The Advance Steel Model Browser gives you access to all the elements of your model in one single location. The objects can be sorted there as Single Parts, Main Parts, or Preliminary Parts. If you wish, you can isolate elements of your Project in Model Browser or edit object properties.

Accessing The Model Browser
You can easily access the Model Browser from the Home ribbon tab:
Home tab > Project panel > Project Explorer menu > Model Browser
The Model Browser will be displayed:
Sorting Objects in the Model Browser Window
If you want to sort objects, you can follow this procedure:
- Open the Model Browser Window from the Hometab
- In the top right corner, you will find a dropdown menu – there you can select if you wish to sort by Main Part, Single Part, or Preliminary Part
- To sort your objects even further, click on any Column Name and your objects will be sorted based on that column
Inserting Additional Columns in the Model Browser Window
If you want to display additional columns in the Model Browser, you can follow this procedure:
- Open the Model Browser Window from the Hometab
- Right-click on any column name
- from the shortcut menu displayed there, choose the option Insert Column(Remove to remove the column)
- The cascading menu where you can choose the property for your new column will be displayed (for example Length)
- You can remove columns from the Model Browser at any time
Isolating Objects from the Model Browser Window
If you want to isolate objects using the Model Browser, you can follow this procedure:
- Open the Model Browser Window from the Hometab
- In the Model Browser window, sort the elements based on the required column property
- Hold down the SHIFT key or the CTRL key and select the rows of the elements that need to be isolated
- The selected objects will be selected in your modeldrawing window
- Click on the Isolate button at the bottom of the Model Browserwindow
- The selected objects will be isolated, and the remaining elements will not be visible
- If you want to revert the visibility of your modelback to the previous state, click on Show All at the bottom of the Model Browser window
Editing Objects Using the Model Browser Window
If you want to duplicate objects using the Model Browser, you can follow this procedure:
- Open the Model Browser Window from the Hometab
- Select the Edit Propertiescheckbox available in the upper left corner of the Model Browser window
- If you want to edit a Model Roleproperty, make sure the column is displayed in the Model Browser window
- Various available options from which you can choose will be displayed
- Select the required property for your element
- To edit the properties of multiple elements, select the row of the first element to be modified
- Hold down the SHIFT key and click on the property field of the last object that you wish to modify
- You can choose from the available drop-down menu
- Select the required property
- The property will be assigned to all selected elements
